The Frog Who Thought the Sky Was a Lid

Frogs and Funnels Have More in Common Than You Think

There once lived a frog at the bottom of a well.

This wasn’t just any frog — he was clever in his own way, full of thoughts and dreams. But for as long as he could remember, the only sky he ever saw was the small blue circle at the top of his well. That circle was his universe. As far as he was concerned, it was the sky — and anything beyond it? Well, probably just myths or exaggerations made up by braver (or weirder) frogs.

He was content… sort of. He’d made peace with the slippery walls and the echo of his own croaks. But every now and then, he’d hear strange noises above — laughter, birds, wind. It stirred something deep in his frog belly. Curiosity? Longing? Maybe just indigestion.

One day, an unusual creature dropped down a long vine — a toad from outside. The toad had seen oceans, mountains, cities lit with glowing lights. He told stories that sounded so ridiculous, the frog almost choked on his moss snack.

“You’re either mad,” the frog said, “or a very good liar.”

But something inside the frog itched in a way it never had before. That night, he looked at that tiny patch of sky, and instead of peace, he felt frustration. “What if,” he whispered, “there is more?”

So he tried. And failed. He slipped. He climbed. He fell back down — over and over, until one day, legs trembling, he reached the rim. He stood blinking in the sunlight, stunned into silence.

The world wasn’t just bigger than he thought — it was a thousand times richer, messier, and more beautiful.

But here’s the twist: the world had always been there. The only thing that had changed… was what the frog believed was possible.

And he’d spent years at the bottom of a well, thinking people like him didn’t get to see the sky.

 My Real-World Frog Moment

I first dipped into digital marketing back in 2002 — yep, way back when flip phones were cool and MySpace was still a thing. But I didn’t get the hang of it. Life did what life does, and I shelved the whole idea, thinking, “Maybe this just isn’t for people like me.”

Fast-forward to 2024, and here I am — not just back at it, but learning every single day.

One of the biggest lies I believed early on? That success was reserved for “those other people” — the ones with perfect lighting, fancy websites, or some secret sauce I just didn’t have. Turns out, the only real secret was having the right coaching program and a bit of guidance to stop spinning my wheels.

Honestly, what took me far too long to learn was this: chasing shiny objects doesn’t replace having the right support. Once I found the right coaching, things started clicking. Not instantly — but in a steady, meaningful way. I’ve been laying the foundations, building real momentum, and focusing on long-term results rather than quick wins.

What I’ve gained so far is already more valuable than a quick sale.

It’s belief.
It’s persistence.
It’s showing up even when the dots haven’t all connected yet — but you know they’re about to.

💡 What I Wish I Knew (So You Don’t Have to Learn the Hard Way)

  • You don’t need a magic funnel or perfect branding — you need clarity and consistency.
  • Trust matters more than tech. A good coach and program will save you months (if not years).
  • You’re not broken because it’s taking time. It’s supposed to take time.
  • The “aha” moments come after the messy, confusing, frustrating ones.

I’m still figuring out how to join all the dots. The tech stuff? Still tricky. But I’ve stopped letting that keep me at the bottom of the well.

🌱 One Last Thing (That Might Change Everything)

If you’re in that spot where nothing’s making sense, and you’re second-guessing whether you’re cut out for this — I was there too. Still am, sometimes.

But if you want real guidance that doesn’t feel like hype, take a peek at THIS. It’s been one of the few things that genuinely helped me see the bigger sky, not just the circle at the top of the well.
